We are currently focused on planning a joint march for Amazon Workers and Tenant Rights on February 20th as part of a national day of solidarity with the Bessemer, Alabama Amazon workers organizing for a union. We are also building town halls to put maximum pressure on state legislators to pass vital COVID tenant protections including a “just cause” eviction protection and barring landlords from evicting tenants for back rent accrued during the moratorium, and establishing a one-year rent freeze following the moratorium. Our social media and research team is publicizing the connection between the housing crisis, COVID, capitalism, and the landlord lobby's pull on the Democratic-Party dominated State Legislature. We are absolutely against any reduction of the Seattle Amazon Tax. All of this helps us gear up for a broader class-struggle fight for a green jobs program to rapidly build tens of thousands of affordable homes, statewide rent control, and permanent “just cause eviction” protections.
