A bus operator for the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, Sister Sandoval was violently assaulted by a male passenger, Ryan Harvey, while he was robbing and attacking two female passengers. When Sister Sandoval ordered him to stop, he yelled obscenities at her, then sucker punched her in the face, causing her to black out and leaving a gash that required eight stitches. This is the fourth time our sister has been assaulted at work, and we urge all SMART and SMART-TD members to attend Harvey’s court hearing to stand in solidarity with our SMART TD sister.
