Care for all communities, and preventing suffering and the loss of human life, are integral to our movement. We will be updating our climate strike plans for Earth Week to focus on digital and/or decentralized actions in keeping with the guidance of scientists and public health experts. --- 2020 is a critical year for climate action. As we approach the US elections and the consequences of climate change are becoming ever more clear and dire with each passing day, a new powerful wave of the climate movement has been swelling. Young people around the world have been rising up to defend our future, and have been going on strike — every week, all over the planet — for months. On September 20, 2019, and again on November 29 and December 6, the adults joined us. We meant it when we said we are prepared to take the movement to the next level. In Los Angeles, we will be turning the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day into a Movement Week of Action, spanning from April 21st – April 24th. The heart of the week of action will be Earth Day (WED, April 22nd) when we’ll be calling on people across LA to join us for a massive mobilization.
