The AFT convention passed a national resolution (motivated by Baltimore's and Chicago's teachers unions) to follow suit this past summer. Baltimore Teachers Union (BTU) has decided the first step in making plans for May Day 2028 is to clear the path for a coordinated, public strike by repealing the strike ban in Maryland.
