After a listening event in June 2023 with 150 asylum seekers living in hotels, a lack of bus travel was identified as a key priority. A campaign to provide asylum seekers with access to free bus travel was ratified at a London Citizens assembly on October 2023 with 300 attendees representing over 250 civil society organisations. On 25th April, we are hosting an accountability assembly with politicians running to be the next Mayor of London. After successful campaigns in Scotland, we are building a campaign to convince the next Mayor of London to provide asylum seekers with access to free bus travel.
