March with Housing Works to Say No Kings, No Troops

We’re calling on all New Yorkers to join the No Kings NYC March on—a powerful, peaceful stand against authoritarianism, militarized policing, and federal overreach. This march is about more than opposing the deployment of the National Guard to NYC. It’s about defending our communities from a federal agenda that seeks to criminalize, surveil, and silence us. We believe that our marching with No Kings groups is also about: - Stopping the illegal kidnapping and deportation of immigrants under expanded ICE raids and federal surveillance. - Fighting back against cuts to abroad and at home HIV prevention and care, which disproportionately impact Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ communities. - Rejecting the labeling of people who identify as Trans or whose gender expression does not align with so called “traditional expectations”, activists, and nonprofits as “domestic threats” or enemies of the state—a dangerous escalation that puts lives and missions at risk. - Demanding that our tax dollars fund vital services—not militarized crackdowns on cities that dare to protect their own. The deployment of the National Guard is not about public safety. It’s about targeting and punishing local governments that resist federal control or do not align with the goals of this current president, and intimidating BIPOC communities under the false guise of “order.” As the Hands-Off NYC campaign reminds us: “They’re trying to ban our books, slash HIV prevention funding, criminalize our doctors, our teachers, our families, and our lives. We say: Hands off our city! Hands off our democracy! Hands off our communities! Join us to protect our city’s dignity, safety, and freedom. Let’s join with other like-minded cities that New York stands united against fear, authoritarianism, and fascism.
