A community conversation about gentrification: what it is and how we can stop it Ever wondered how a neighborhood dies? It can feel inevitable that as new amenities like the streetcar come in, our rent will go up, our tax dollars will subsidize our own displacement, our memories will get turned into airbnbs, and the result will be a Kansas City we no longer recognize. But it’s not inevitable: not if we organize.
