Actions of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have resulted in the cancellation of approximately $400 million in AmeriCorps grants — around 40 percent of the agency's annual budget. This decision has affected over 1,000 organizations and more than 32,000 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers across the country. Hundreds of NCCC members have been demobilized, and most of AmeriCorps' full-time staff are facing layoffs. We are not powerless in the face of these cuts.
