*Habra interpretación simultánea al Español en el foro de candidatos. Join the NYC Care Campaign members on Wednesday, April 28th from 8:00pm to 9:30pm for a District 6 NYC Council Candidate Forum (Upper West Side). We're excited to hear from the candidates their ideas to transform the domestic work & care sector to one that works for everyone: workers, parents, family caregivers, older adults and people with disabilities. Our main issues are: Government investment in the domestic and care sector to create good quality jobs and make care accessible to all New Yorkers, so parents, older adults and people with disabilities have the care and support they need at home Advancing equality by passing anti-discriminatory and labor laws to protect low-wage workers, in particular immigrant Black, Indigenous and women of color (BIWOC). The NYC Care Campaign is a growing coalition of domestic workers, employers, parents, families, caregivers, older adults, and people with disabilities working together to transform New York City’s care economy to one that is just, equitable and sustainable for all. The campaign is led by the National Domestic Workers Alliance, Hand in Hand: The Domestic Employers Network, Adhikaar, Carroll Gardens Association. Some of the endorser organizations are Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, Innovative Youth Care, among other local groups.
