Once Again: Green New Deal Panel

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

Join us for the Once Again PAC Green New Deal Panel! We need a Green New Deal to transform our workforce, economy, and energy. The climate crisis is an emergency, and we’re running out of time to stop the most catastrophic impacts. We must accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy that puts human needs first, reinvests in frontline and marginalized communities, puts millions of people to work in good-paying union jobs, and ensures that critical energy systems operate under public democratic control. Together, we will can and must win a #GreenNewDeal! Special guest speakers featured include: Nikayla Jefferson is an organizer with Sunrise Movement San Diego and Climate Action Campaign. CAC has been successful in getting the City of San Diego (led by a republican mayor), and many other cities in the region to adopt 100% clean energy climate action plans, and community choice energy. They're now leading the effort to adopt a Green New Deal in the city and region. She is also an upcoming PhD student at UC Santa Barbara, former Bernie CA co-chair. Josh Fox is an American film director, playwright and environmental activist, best known for his Oscar-nominated, Emmy-winning 2010 documentary, Gasland. He is one of the most prominent public opponents of hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling. He has campaigned for a ban on fracking and against the gas industry's exploitation of loopholes in the Clean Water act and the Safe Drinking Water Act.In 2016, he worked as a surrogate for Senator Bernie Sanders as the Creative Director for Our Revolution and as a member of the campaign's NY Platform Committee. He worked to pass an amendment to the Democratic Platform which addressed carbon pricing, the phasing out of natural gas power plants, community involvement, and adopting the Keystone XL climate standard for all federal energy projects. Salvador Espinoza organizes for the environment and to get out the vote. Before that, he was the National Constituency Barnstormer with Bernie 2020, had worked with Beto O’Rourke, and had been a high school U.S history teacher. All of this because as a 2nd gen immigrant, he was raised by his parents to believe in the American dream, this idea that with hard work, you could succeed. And yet growing up he’s seen things like the recession, unrepresentative government, and climate change make the possibility of obtaining that dream for average Americans harder by the year. For a clean world, and a fair one for all, he believes we need a Green New Deal.' Tune in 8:00pm ET tonight at onceagainpac.com
