Despite this hostility, the vast majority of people who are influenced by these narratives of division are not inherently bad people. They are capable of empathy, but are angry about the housing and cost of living crisis, the underfunding of public services and concerned about their children's future. These fears and concerns are being exploited by unscrupulous groups and individuals who do not care about the damage that is being done to the fabric of our communities. In an increasingly uncertain times, what can we do to rebuild trust and community strength? This session, delivered but he Ella Baker School of Organising, will explore the context in which narratives of division are growing, and consider how we can engage, here in Solihull, with those who are influenced by them.
