Panel Discussion: Violations of Academic Freedom

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

Donor Corruption at George Mason has finally been exposed! The tireless work of student activists has forced the administration to investigate undue donor influence. The investigation revealed a number of serious violations of academic freedom and faculty governance. GMU has allowed donors to: specify outcomes of research (pg. 13); be involved in the selection of faculty (pg. 15); withdraw their funding if specific person(s) were not hired or retained in their current positions (pg. 14); oversee fellowship recruitment criteria and processes (pg. 18); and prevent the university from disclosing the existence of gift agreements or its contents (pg. 19). The Review Committee considered these violations to be “not egregious” and the University has yet to come up with any clear policy solution. The administration has shown that they are complacent with corruption and cannot be trusted. Students need you to join us for a panel discussion: Violations of Academic Freedom this Thursday from 2:30-4:30 p.m in HUB Room 1 to hear the real story of what private donors are getting for their money.
