Several bills seek to address private equity this session, in the Children's, Public Health, Housing and Aging Committees. The bankruptcy of three Connecticut hospitals can be traced to private equity, and testimony for bills has addressed its impact on nursing homes here, including day care centers, housing, including the bankruptcy of Concierge Apartments, the former Century Hills, and more. CCAG and allies will welcome keynote speaker Megan Greenwell, author of last year’s book Bad Company: Private Equity and the Death of the American Dream (https://www.megangreenwell.com/), which follows five people whose jobs and lives were upended by private equity in healthcare, journalism, retail, and housing. The forum will also feature legislative leaders and people in Connecticut whose lives have been impacted by private equity.
