They are fighting to implement desperately needed staffing increases to improve the patient care conditions at the facility, poor conditions that have only been exacerbated by the pandemic. Since the strike began, Tenet has spent more than $100 million to prolong the nurses strike, much greater than the cost of meeting the nurses’ strike demands. To mark six months since the beginning of the strike, DSLC and Worcester DSA—in collaboration with DSA chapters around the state of Massachusetts—are hosting a virtual solidarity event on September 1st.
