Attendees will be able to speak directly to the Committee about the cuts to the Free City Program; which Mayor Lurie is slashing down to around $6.5 million of the MOU-promised $16.5 million, not enough to cover the core features of the Free City Program. Free City Funding's last hope is for restoration of the funding via budget amendment through the Board of Supervisors this summer. The Budget and Appropriations Committee has 5 Board of Supervisors members on it; the very people who can restore funding to the Free City Program to ensure that promise of tuition-free CCSF is delivered to San Franciscans.
