The United Auto Workers (UAW) just kicked off a historic Stand Up Strike at General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis (‘Big 3 Auto’ companies). Despite corporate media’s attempts to pit environmentalists and activists against auto workers, 120+ climate and social justice organizations have signed an open letter to Big 3 Auto CEOs demanding that they meet UAW’s contract demands and ensure that the auto industry’s clean energy transition is a just transition too. With 41 Big 3 plants across 20 states on strike so far, now is a crucial moment for UAW’s community and movement allies to show up and support. On Sunday 10/1 at 3 PT/6 ET, climate, social justice, and movement organizations, as well as UAW, are hosting a Solidarity action call to share how people anywhere in the country can take action in support of UAW, followed by a nationwide Day of Action on Saturday, 10/7. This is a historic moment, and we need all hands on deck! Join us for this special call on Sunday, 10/1. This call is sponsored by: United Auto Workers (UAW) Labor Network for Sustainability Sunrise Movement Working Families Party Jobs with Justice
