At the same time, Columbia YDSA has been organizing the largest tuition strike in history, backed by 2,500 students, as part of an effort to fight back against rising tuition costs, student debt, as well as to democratize the university on a number of social justice issues ranging from labor rights to divestment to police abolition to housing justice to anti-racism. Dozens of student groups across the country have expressed support and interest in replicating these efforts and we hope we can be part of a national movement! On Thursday, December 17 at 7 pm ET, we will be co-hosting a town hall with University of Manchester Rent Strike and inviting other student groups to share details about both our organizing efforts.
