The film examines the history of the Nuclear Arms Race and the story of how the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons came into force. Following the film, Professor Peter Kuznick, Director of the American University Nuclear Studies Institute and co-author of The Untold History of the United States, will lead a discussion. The TPNW, representing over half the world's population, is a significant step forward for the nuclear disarmament movement. Although it is opposed by all the nuclear powers and their nuclear alliances, it is a signal that the majority of the world is unhappy about their failure to live up the the disarmament obligations in the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.
