Protecting Our Rights. Taking Action A Six-Part Civic Education & Action Series Inspired by Stacey Abrams' “10 Steps to Autocracy” Framework What's Happening with Our Democracy – By Design is a six-part public education and civic action seriesdesigned to move people from concern to understanding—and from understanding to action. Using Stacey Abrams' 10 Steps to Autocracy as the organizing framework, the series will examine how democratic institutions can be weakened, what history teaches us about democratic backsliding, and what ordinary citizens can do—peacefully, lawfully, and effectively—to protect democratic institutions and constitutional rights. Every session will answer three questions: What's happening? Why does it matter? What can we do about it? The goal is not simply to sound an alarm. The goal is to build an informed, organized, and engaged citizenry prepared to defend democracy. Those completing the Democracy Action Passport challenges and attend ALL six What’s Happening with Our Democracy sessions will be designated and receive a certificate as DEMOCRACY AMBASSADOR! https://actionnetwork.org/events/whats-happening-in-our-democracy-by-design
