We’ll be doing more than just looking at the data. We’ll unpack the stories behind the statistics we collected, and explore the creative ideas and solutions you all shared for cooler, and healthier homes and suburbs. The major takeaway from our Summer Survey this year was how many of us are facing the same heat-related challenges. Across the country, we heard from people who are struggling to keep their rental homes cool on dangerously hot days, coping with financial stress and soaring energy bills, managing chronic illnesses and health issues made worse by extreme heat, and worrying about elderly relatives and friends during heatwaves. Now, we want to put your stories into action. We’ll hear from the Sweltering Cities team, who are working in different parts of the country about what they've learned from the survey results, and how you can get involved. It’ll be a great opportunity to connect with others in your local area who are passionate about making their communities more resilient to extreme heat. Although summer is coming to an end, we're most likely heading into an extremely warm winter. There’s so much important work to do in the next few months, and as we look ahead and prepare for the hot summers of our future. Whether you filled in the survey, you didn't get a chance to, or you’re completely new to our work, everyone is welcome!
