Our county commissioners worked with DHS to help advance the proposed ICE detention center while also quietly working to lure data centers to the county. These projects could affect our neighborhoods, reduce home values, strain public services, and drive up water and sewer bills. We are investigating these decisions, but publishing what we uncover is only part of the work. We need to get that information directly to our neighbors before they vote. Join Hagerstown Rapid Response and Washington County Indivisible's canvassing team. We will be knocking on doors, sharing our findings, talking with residents about what is at stake, and encouraging them to vote out the commissioners who helped pave the way for the detention center. Every conversation is a chance to reach a neighbor who hasn’t heard what is happening or how their elected officials are involved. No canvassing experience is needed, and even a couple of hours can help. Sign up and we will follow up with dates, meeting locations, and everything you need to get started https://actionnetwork.org/forms/canvassing-team
