End Contract Chaos: Better & Simpler for CBA Employees

	<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/share_options/facebook_images/000/212/599/original/C1D88A76-6A71-47C6-AA1F-7886E4B17F7B.png</thumbnail_url>

Employment arrangements at CBA are unnecessarily complex and highly individualised. The bulk of the workforce are employed through individual contracts that cut out certain provisions of the Enterprise Agreement - a collectively negotiated set of workplace terms and conditions. These contracts purport to increase pay in compensation for removing certain parts of the EA but in many cases that initial bump hasn't kept up with the cost of living and isn't vastly different to collectively negotiated wages. This leaves people worse off than if they had initially just been employed directly on the EA, with no real way to transition. The current situation at CBA was reached in the in the name of "choice" but puts colleagues in the same roles on different footings in terms of pay and conditions at work. Contracting arrangements and complexities at CBA make it difficult for team leaders to manage their teams effectively and difficult for staff to be have any certainty about their conditions at work. CBA recently announced that they would stop issuing Individual Arrangements. This was positive recognition that things had gotten out of hand and the move was welcomed by the union. Since then, rather than just employing people directly on the Enterprise Agreement with fair pay, CBA have begun issuing Annualised Salary Contracts that build in weekly unpaid overtime of up to ten hours. CBA say they're in the process of becoming a better, simpler Bank. This attitude should be extended to their employment practices. CBA have indicated that in 2020 they're ready and willing to negotiate a new workplace agreement with colleagues via their union, the Finance Sector Union. This presents a unique opportunity for those working at CBA. The 2020 Agreement should apply to all CBA colleagues: it should be a clear and fair set of workplace conditions that applies to everyone and facilitates a fair transition for contractors. The contract headache must end. The Finance Sector Union will be bargaining for a new agreement with CBA in 2020. We intend to make a campaign for a contract transition arrangement that leaves nobody worse off, but to do that, we need your support for this proposition, and your involvement in getting it done. Fill in the form opposite to join our campaign to have CBA transition away from individualised working conditions in a way that is fair and beneficial to all CBA colleagues.
