On September 20, Migrant Rights Network is calling on groups and individuals across Canada to take action - in the streets, in community spaces, and online. This is not a one-off event. We are building all summer - actions, film screenings, potlucks, outreach at supermarkets and transit hubs, leading up to and beyond September 20 — to take the conversation about migrant justice directly to communities. For years, politicians and media have scapegoated migrants for the housing, affordability, and healthcare crisis — to protect the people who actually profit from our suffering. 2.3 million people face losing their status. Permanent residency has been slashed. Refugee healthcare cut. The result affects all of us - when migrants are blamed, racism rises, and change on all progressive fronts stalls.
