We are now looking for more Mainers to get involved in this important work! Opioid Settlement Funds is money from a massive settlement at the federal level from drug companies that have contributed to our country's overdose crisis by knowingly poisoning and causing millions of Americans to become addicted. Funds have been distributed to counties in all 50 states and are supposed to be spent by County Commissioners on harm reduction services. Unfortunately, that hasn't always been the case and in some counties, the funds are being misused and spent on jail budgets. We know that people with substance use disorder need support and harm reduction services—not to be arrested and put in jail. Can you join us in advocating for more oversight and transparency of how the funds are being used? We're looking for people to share their stories and also for people who are interested in being part of a volunteer team to advocate for the proper spending of these funds in their community.
