As described by our Branch bylaws, the roles are Branch Chair, Branch Membership Chair, and Branch Secretary. In order to be eligible for an OC position, the individual must have been a CT DSA member for at least six months, have attended a New Member Orientation, at least two previous Branch General Meetings, and one Chapter General Assembly. The OC members shall have the following duties and powers: Be a spokesperson for the Branch, provided the Chapter shall speak with one voice on external matters. Be the co-presiding officer of the Branch Organizing Committee and Branch General Meeting, provided that the respective body may at any time approve an incidental motion for another person to serve as presiding officer. Coordinate activities of the Branch with those of the Chapter, including organizing General Meetings and the Branch Organizing Committee meetings. The Branch Chair shall ensure Branch events are advertised in appropriate Chapter channels. The Branch Membership Chair shall host New Member Orientations and work to engage new or inactive members.
