Hywel Daniel should resign

Health Visitors in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board have been taking strike action for several months over a dispute with their pay banding. This means that due to the inaction of the Health Board, families have been without vital services that health visitors provide daily. This dispute can easily be resolved, simply by honouring the Band 7 job description created in social partnership with the Health Board; Welsh Government have given their clear expectation the job evaluation process needs to be honoured and urged the Health Board to seek an early resolution to this dispute. This instruction has been ignored by CTMUHB who have told us they have the money to pay; they are just choosing not to. I support Unite's call for the immediate resignation of Mr Hywel Daniel, Executive Director of People and lead negotiator for CTMUHB in this dispute. Hywel Daniel’s lack of urgency, failure to meaningfully negotiate, and deliberately undermining Welsh Government calls serious question into his leadership. Hywel Daniel should go, so that meaningful talks can take place to resolve this dispute and ensure families in Cwm Taf Morgannwg are provided with the essential services they need and deserve.
