I want more bus service - I support 10 by 2030!

For Buffalo, Niagara Falls and the greater WNY metro area to be a just, fair and equitable place to live, we need adequate public transit services that meet ridership service needs. Further, for us to meet our carbon emission reduction goals as a region, we absolutely must increase use of our public transit system, and do so within the next decade. Unfortunately, there is no clear roadmap being offered by any of the agencies, authorities or elected leaders for maintaining, much less expanding, the service levels of our fixed route buses. To build ridership, we must first build rider services. We are calling for support today for several shared baseline goals to fight for by the year 2030 - A minimum of 10 minute bus frequencies for all bus routes within the Cities of Buffalo and Niagara Falls during weekday daytime hours A minimum of 30 minute frequencies 24/7 for all other service hours and areas A minimum commitment to at least maintain all existing fixed route bus lines, and not eliminate any additional routes In short, 10 by 2030. We feel these are modest goals, and that the greatest barrier to implementation is simply a lack of public funding for operation of the system. We also recognize that planning and implementation of any transportation policy cannot happen overnight. We must add more drivers, purchase additional equipment, and build out additional complete street infrastructure regionally. But we also believe that if our area planning and policy bodies, including but not limited to the NFTA, GBNRTC, NYSDOT, town and city planning boards, and our local, state and national legislative leaders were to make a commitment to implementing these shared goals, then we could meet these goals within the decade. Join us today - sign in support of 10 by 2030!
