In the UK, where biodiversity has been in decline for so many years, the Church has opportunity to protect and nurture large areas of land back to health. As one of the UK’s largest landowners (owning over 100,000 acres of land and £11bn of assets!), the Church of England’s investment body, the Church Commissioners, have a responsibility to act to protect nature on their land. The Church of England’s key decision-makers - members of the General Synod - have an historic opportunity to support a motion calling for the Church Commissioners to honour their responsibility as stewards of nature, and protect 30% of their land for nature, in line with international UN targets. But to do this, we need your help to to raise awareness in church communities across the country.
