It's up to us to make sure our union siblings from DSA show up and show out to pickets, rallies, and crucial political fights. The NYC-DSA Labor Working Group is revamping our Field Sub-committee to make sure we have the structure to bring the fight to bosses across the city. The Field Subcommittee will be focusing on mobilizing union members in DSA for important pickets, mapping out high/low DSA density across locals, finding union siblings in DSA who can be activated to help build the LWG, and training Field Leads to create a network of mobilizers across unions, branches, and boroughs. Depending on your capacity, we encourage you to sign up to be a Field Lead or a Mobilizer, and help make 2026 the best year for labor yet! Field Leads will be responsible for: Taking responsibility for a target turf within NYC-DSA's membership (EG. Regional branches, specific unions, language groups, etc.) Identifying mobilizers within your turf and helping them build a target list. Attending a bi-weekly Field Subcommittee meeting. Uplifting important mobilizations from your turf to the Labor Working Group to make sure we mobilize for your crew! Volunteering to help coordinate DSA members at specific pickets when needed. Mobilizers will be responsible for: Building a list of people you know who you can regularly communicate with about DSA-LWG updates.
