When employers know the government can step in and end a strike, they have less reason to bargain fairly. That puts workers’ wages, working conditions and bargaining power at risk. And the threat does not stop with federally regulated workers. If Ottawa gets away with weakening the right to strike, it gives Doug Ford a roadmap to do the same thing here in Ontario.
