Sunday 20th September, 3pm-4pm (UK Time BST) To coincide with Labour Connected, we are holding a special online event on Sunday 20th September to launch Labour For A Basic Income. In 2019, the Labour Party committed to trialling a universal basic income in its general election manifesto. And across the country, Labour-run Local Authorities have been lobbying government to adopt the policy too. A basic income will be more and more important in helping the UK cope with the challenges it faces in the years to come, and we want the Labour Party to be at the forefront of that debate and to implement a genuinely popular universal service that could become our generation's NHS. We will be discussing all this and more on Sunday 20th September, 3pm-4pm (BST) at the launch of Labour for a Basic Income with the following speakers: Clive Lewis MP for Norwich South Beth Winter MP for Cynon Valley Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester (invited) The format will be a conversation between our three speakers, with you getting a chance to ask the panelists questions in the Q&A.
