It’s important we give people the choice to vote for us where ever they live. Standing in every ward is also essential in raising our profile. A full slate of candidates will generate media interest, both regionally and locally. This is vital for us to counter the growth of Reform, who we fully expect to also stand in every ward. Of course, it’s unrealistic to expect to win all 53 wards. We don’t have the resources to run 53 full campaigns, so in many wards we would stand what is known as a ‘paper candidate’. This is a candidate that isn’t expected to win and who does not actively campaign. You just need to be be willing to put your name on the ballot so that people in a ward can vote for Herefordshire Green Party and show they want real hope and real change.
