We've asked them to do so by passing Senate Bill 191 that allows voters to apply online for an absentee ballot. We called on them to provide pre-paid postage for absentee applications and ballots, and to allow more than one early vote center and drop box per county.  But instead, it seems like they're moving in the wrong direction. This week, State Rep. Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison) introduced House Bill 680 -- a bill that would make voting harder and more complicated. It's already had its first hearing and two more are scheduled. This bill: Makes it more complicated to apply to vote-by-mail by sending an informational postcard rather than a ballot application to voters; Prevents the Secretary of State from mailing absentee ballot applications to all Ohio voters and stops him from using federal funding to pay return postage for ballot applications and ballots, and Threatens the safety and security of election day by requiring any emergency plans to be established almost two months in advance. Call House Speaker Larry Householder and tell him to oppose House Bill 680 and any bill that would make it harder for voters to have their voices heard this November! I urge you to oppose House Bill 680 because it will make it more difficult for Ohioans to have their voices heard. The Secretary of State should be able to send absentee ballot applications to all voters. Better yet, voters should be able to apply online for their absentee ballot.
