Young people are the largest, most diverse generation alive right now. Voting on November 8th is the first step in making sure our elected officials take the issues we care about into account, like affordable education, the environment, women's health, and money in politics. There's a lot at stake in this election and it's not just about who will be our next President. From ballot initiatives to our local elected officials - our votes will matter if we all turn out. Over the past four years, MASSPIRG has registered over 20,000 students to vote at colleges across the state through our non-partisan voter registration work. We have big goals for the upcoming election, and we're looking for interns to lead the charge. Responsibilities May Include: Building a voter registration coalition of different groups and departments at your campus Coordinating voter registration and voter education tables Tracking and checking over complete voter registration forms and ensuring their timely delivery to town clerks Training student governments, Res Life staff, and other interested groups on conducting voter registration Organizing political events like Debate Watch Parties, mock elections, or other ideas you have Visiting other college campuses to help register their students to vote (optional) Coordinating get out the vote efforts to ensure the students we register turn out to vote in huge numbers Interns will receive support and training from a team of experienced Organizers and student leaders.
