Their employer, Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS Trust, wants to force them to rotate from Bassetlaw to Doncaster for at least 2 months of every year - adding between 1hr 30mins and 3hrs to travel time each day, on top of exhausting 13-hour shifts! Not only is this unreasonable but this would put the safety of both nurses and patients at risk. But they are being told that if they do not agree to worse terms and conditions - they will be sacked. The Trust has admitted that eventually, they do not want any nurses to be permanently based at Bassetlaw ICU, and the unit will be staffed by nurses on rotation from Doncaster.
