Significant numbers of Republicans and Democrats in the House and Senate agreed that Donald Trump violated his oath of office immediately before, during and after the events of January 6, 2021. Judges in Colorado and Maine also found Trump engaged in insurrection, which was the basis for their state’s Supreme Court rulings that banned Trump from the ballot. At least seven January 6th participants won public office in 2021, and dozens more are seeking spots on the ballot. Anybody who participated in trying to overturn a free and fair election, trying to devalue the votes of millions and millions of Americans who voted for president in 2020 ought not to be in a position of authority in this country. Donald Trump violated his oath of allegiance to the constitutional rules and has forfeited his right to present and future office. ALL insurrectionists have forfeited their rights to elected office.
