Unbreakable Threads is a welcoming series of events where threads, fabric and yarn become storytellers of our unique experiences in life. Through weaving, we bring together stories, migrant voices, and traditions from across Europe. Led by talented Polish artist Magdalena Jasiak, each free session invites you to connect through creativity, community, and craft. Together we will learn the art of weaving, from constructing our own simple loom to specialist techniques used in different regions. Each session offers something new, so don’t hesitate to join anytime. We welcome all Poles, Romanians, and anyone with Eastern European roots. All language abilities are welcome as group co-learning is encouraged. Whether you have experience with weaving or not, join us! Materials, instructions and refreshments provided – just bring yourself and your story. Every month we meet for a chance to learn, share stories, and exercise our creativity in a collective tapestry. *We decided to group the Slavic countries, the Baltics, Balkans and Caucasus under a broader Eastern European term due to their shared history, migration experiences and cultural ties. While we distinguish and appreciate each individual culture and traditions of these countries, it’s impossible to ignore the past impact on our national identities. We would like to invite you to join us in a process of redefining this term and actively rejecting its obsolete stereotypes linked to the past.
