The bill creates a refundable tax credit for private school and home-school students of up to $5,000 per student and $7,500 per student with disabilities with no cap per family. This bill puts Idaho on a clear path to a universal voucher program that drains funding from public schools in order to subsidize private-school tuition. While the bill is currently capped at $50 million per year, bill supporters intend to balloon that number to $250 million and more in the coming years. In the days ahead, we will work with local leaders and volunteers to organize events in communities across Idaho.
