This senseless loss of life was completely avoidable, and although tasers are often used by law enforcement as “non-lethal” weapons, it’s clear that their usage can, and does, have life-ending consequences Tasers should be labeled as less lethal weapons by law enforcement—and the funding that goes toward supplying law enforcement with tasers should instead be used for de-escalation training.
