Support Library Workers Diversity

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

JCPL workers need your support as they stand up for their rights to freedom of expression, diversity, and inclusion. As part of JCPL's first contract negotiations with the employees after unionization, JCPL has proposed a more restrictive dress code that would not allow for any text on attire except for county logos. Workers are concerned about this proposal as it explicitly would ban attire reflective of Pride, Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage, Deaf History Month, Autism Awareness Month, Trans Day of Visibility, Banned Book Week, Women's History Month, etc. Unfortunately, when this was raised with management, they argued that the attire in support of the holidays above would be banned because of its "political nature." Let’s join our JCPL union siblings in standing up for freedom of expression and against attacks against diversity, inclusion, and public services by filling the whole meeting up with their union family! Please send a letter to the Library board telling them you stand with library workers.
