The first step in ending this crisis is to deal head-on with the $1.5 trillion in student debt that is weighing down millions of people. Elizabeth Warren has a transformational  plan that forgives up to $50,000 in student loan debt. The plan for broad student debt forgiveness will: Forgive debt for more than 95% of the nearly 45 million Americans with student loan debt; Wipe out student loan debt entirely for more than 75% of the Americans with that debt; Substantially increase wealth and reduce wealth gaps for Black and Latinx families; Provide an enormous middle-class stimulus that will boost economic growth Erasing student debt that’s holding down generations of Americans isn’t enough.
