We have endured closures, financial hardship, shifting and confusing regulations, and financial and emotional devastation since the PAUSE was issued on March 16. Lease debt and the inability to renegotiate our leases plague most small businesses with the threat of destruction. Do regular New Yorkers know how many businesses have already closed because of months of accumulated lease debt and low revenues? This is our chance to reach New Yorkers and their elected officials directly with stories that impact us all. We want to make sure they know the story of every small business in NYC! Please share your story today with a short video, and tell the world: We need rent relief. We will post small business video stories to social media daily, and tag all corresponding federal, state, and local government representatives so they are aware that businesses in their districts are demanding rent relief. We will also produce a public service announcement that will air on local radio and television using the footage and sound we collect.
