The block walk will focus on communicating and engaging voters to respond to the attempts of the Texas Republican Legislators to pass bills that negatively impact the rights of Texans including voter suppression. In essence, Texas Republican Legislators are breaking their oath to protect the rights of Texans and it is our duty to intervene and support the Texas Democrats fighting for voting rights legislation to pass the U.S. Senate. We will not sit down and tolerate their abusive legislative treatment of our voting rights, criminal justice causes, women’s rights, and more in Texas. We are calling on grassroots organizations across the state of Texas to host a block walk on August 7, 2021. We are encouraging two shifts to be available, 10am and 4pm.
