They recently won a reduction in wait time, but a massive fee increase threatens their progress. This year, the cost of maintaining lawful status for these young people has increased to approx. £3,845, making it unaffordable for many as the cost of Home Office applications has risen 540% in the last 10 years. These young people are talented and contribute to society but can't afford the ever-increasing application costs. This keeps them in a precarious situation, affecting everything from work to education.
