Bike Durham relies on volunteers to help us reach more of our Durham neighbors with our work; without volunteers, we cannot expand our capacity to grow our base of support for our advocacy agenda around safe and and sustainable streets. Volunteers are essential for our Education work with children and youth. Finally, volunteers make our larger, fun and informative events possible. We can't ride without you. Sign up for an invitation to our volunteer meeting; you will be able to choose from an in person or zoom meeting. Plan to spend about one hour hearing from the VolunGear Leadership Team about our ongoing and single event volunteer opportunities. We will introduce you to activities like setting up bike racks for Bike Valet; effectively engaging prospective supporters through tabling; and setting up and supporting children in our bike safety skills course. You'll learn about the pathway to becoming a ride leader and other roles available to support rides, like sweeps and marshals. The chairs and staff of our 2 working committees: Advocacy and Events, will share how to engage. Finally, we have lots of ongoing administrative tasks for which we need help and these will be shared with you.   An invitation to an in person event and zoom call with be forthcoming; you'll choose which one works for you.
