When we researched creating a daily news outlet that could genuinely be a source of communication and connection reflecting reflects the needs of working-class people in the region, we knew it needed to be a worker- and reader-owned cooperative. Reader-members can participate democratically in decision making about this local news outlet and even sit on our elected board.
