MAGA lawmakers in the House are attempting to discredit these protest by pushing the conspiracy theory that this opposition is driven by "foreign adversaries."2 Trump's interior secretary said, "It's not organic and local, some of this is foreign-sourced dark money."3 Billionaires and the Trump administration see massive profits at risk if energy-sucking data centers don't get built. So, the right-wing propaganda campaign begins. Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez introduced legislation to block the construction of new data centers — backing the people over Trump's billionaire friends.4 Sign the petition: Listen to the PEOPLE — ban AI data centers NOW! Federal law enforcement agencies are already targeting people protesting AI and data centers with enhanced surveillance. Private law enforcement documents show that the government has even developed the term "anti-tech violent extremism."6 We are at a critical moment in the fight to end data center construction for the people and the environment.
