Close the Prevailing Wage Loophole for Offsite Construction

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

We have a critical opportunity to defend our work, our wages, and our labor standards. Right now, a loophole in Massachusetts law allows contractors to dodge prevailing wage laws by moving construction work offsite. It’s a backdoor attack on our wages and benefits and hurts us all. The offsite fabrication bill H.2162/S.1318 will close that loophole. It ensures all publicly funded construction work—on-site or off—pays prevailing wage. No exceptions. But this bill won’t pass unless we take action. Please take one minute to tell your elected official to support H.2162/S.1318. If passed, this legislation will: Protect family-sustaining jobs and prevent wage theft Keep taxpayer dollars circulating in our local communities Promote fair pay and high-quality construction work Help keep projects on time and on budget. Work that’s been moved offsite is still our work. Offsite construction is still construction. The location shouldn't dictate whether workers earn sustainable wages or not. This is about protecting good jobs, strong communities, and the future of our trades. Let’s get it done
