Romano has demonstrated his blatant contempt for the most basic American cultural values of freedom and democracy. He has proven he doesn't have the temperament to lead. His attack on our democracy must be disavowed and condemned. We call on Republicans to ask for his resignation. It's the right thing to do and symbolic of Republicans' commitments to protecting our democracy. Last week, Romano issued a stern warning to anyone who would exercise their right to free speech and assembly, “declaring war on anyone who disagrees with them.” This isn't an isolated incident. Earlier this year, he banned a reporter from covering the State GOP convention. This trend is disturbing and dangerous to our democracy.
