Tell the Senate: Vote NO on DHS and ICE Funding

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

The Senate is considering a Department of Homeland Security funding bill that would send millions more taxpayer dollars to Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol at the exact moment these agencies are killing civilians, terrorizing schools, and committing widespread civil rights violations. Armed federal agents murdered Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother and wife, in a reckless act of violence captured on video. Weeks later, they killed ICU nurse Alex Pretti in another brutal shooting. These killings are part of a broader pattern of deadly force, racial profiling, and abuse carried out with near total impunity. Inside ICE detention facilities, people continue to die due to medical neglect, isolation, and inhuman conditions. These facilities are death traps where accountability is nonexistent. Instead of addressing these abuses, DHS has blocked oversight and resisted transparency. ICE’s violence reaches into schools and community spaces. Educators report students being pepper-sprayed, an educator was detained, and schools are being forced to close to protect children and staff. Families are afraid to attend school, seek medical care, or access community services. There should be no vote on DHS funding unless and until ICE and CBP are removed from communities and Congress conducts a full investigation into enforcement practices, use of force, and civil rights violations. Once those conditions are met, Congress must drastically reduce ICE and Border Patrol funding, reclaim billions of dollars previously allocated for these rogue agencies, and advance policies that directly stop violence and abuse. Click “Start Writing” to tell your senators to vote NO on DHS and ICE funding and stop enabling deadly enforcement.
